The college offers over 30 associate degrees for transfer, 41 associate degrees, and numerous certificates across 12 academic disciplines, as well as the West Language Academy, an intensive English program for students building language skills before entering credit coursework. WLAC's International Student Program supports F-1 visa students through I-20 processing, immigration advising, academic counseling, and student services throughout their enrollment. West Los Angeles College does not provide on-campus housing. International students arrange their own off-campus accommodations in the surrounding area.

Yes. Students in the West Language Academy are building the English skills they need to succeed in academic coursework. Living with an American host family extends that English practice well beyond the classroom, reinforcing your learning every single day at home. The combination of intensive instruction and full daily immersion is one of the most effective ways to develop real fluency quickly.
Stays start at a minimum of 4 weeks and can be extended to match the length of your program. Whether you are enrolled for a single session or staying through your transfer preparation, flexible options are available with no long-term lease required.
